Who Am I?

My name is Anne Davidson, and I have had enjoyed a full career in various industries as Company Accountant/Financial Director. Laterally, in my professional career, I was lucky enough to run my own business for more than 10 years but when the recession happened in 2012 for my company it was time to move on to pastures new. I always had a plan that when I retired I would do my Yoga full time, to pass on its benefits. However, due to a chance meeting, with my ex Landlord, life brought this opportunity to my doorstep sooner than I thought and a business relationship was developed with MEPC in Hillington Park, Glasgow. Therefore, I found myself starting Om-tastic-Yoga and enjoyed five years running all my classes at the Innovation Centre, then due to changes I found myself making the huge step of taking on my own studio. I was delighted to find the right space at Trump Developments, also in Hillington. The most inspiring thing about my new studio was that it was the old Rolls-Royce buildings where my Father worked for over 30 years as the Superintendent of all the Apprentices. I don't believe in coincidences but believe everything good and bad happens for a reason! However, then the pandemic hit us all when we weren’t allowed to go out and I wasn’t allowed into the studio! I kept thinking that things would get back to normal but after a year of still paying for the premises I finally gave the studio up. Life ever since has been online but I feel it’s time now to get back!

I have now developed a new business relationship with Pollock United who have not long taken over the lease at the Nethercraigs Facility. All the staff are very helpful and enthusiastic about creating a community centre for all to enjoy! I have now started classes there and hopefully get my own yoga community back in a studio but I am also looking forward to meeting and welcoming new students.

I am a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma Teacher but have also enjoyed studying with other bodies of Yoga such as Yoga Scotland, Inner Yoga and TSYP. I also enjoyed visiting India a couple of times to study at the Krishnamacharya Mandarin which is where my real passion for mental health developed. I then went onto study with Svastha Yoga in Europe for three years and gained my Therapy and Ayurveda Diploma which was a wonderful experience and very informative. This allowed me to further develop my knowledge with regards to various health issues.

Therefore I can offer therapeutic yoga, in 1-2-1 sessions i.e. helping people with any medical issues and specialising in depression. As well as delivering general classes for many years I have also enjoyed working with residents in Nursing Homes with dementia, and also offering Foundation Courses and Yoga Sutra Courses over a period of a year giving students the opportunity to find out more about yoga.

Everyone has different needs so it is important to have the correct practice which I can provide. For further information or advice please do not hesitate to contact me either via e-mail or by phone to discuss your requirements.
